I gave it a go with a mobile lidar dataset of an small mountain pass. So far I tested the Line following tool, very cool, I was able to get the centerline of it quit fast. Needs a bit of retouching afterwards but overall does a good job. But I came back because I needed to say how blown away I was because of the ressults of the automatic terrain extraction. Using the default values, it was able to leave the road and the nearby terrain and extract all the noisy vegetation. I'm quite shocked. The only issues, minor are that at start and end of the road the road is classified as vegetation for lets say 10 meters long along axis. Extracted road and side banks Road and vegetation (is classified as Created, but I really dont mind) Extracted ground: Ground and Vegetation: failed road start end classification: I saw that with reality capture models there is kind of cross section tool to extract breaklines. I believe that once extracted road axis using the follow tool this could be used so that cross section slave camera moves along it. I would like to extract the road out of the ground classification. I'll see what tools I find for such task. May be is it possible to select points based on colour for the points classified as ground?
