Forum Post: Sub-millimeter accuracy

Regardless of the compression settings, PODcreator and PointTools CONNECT seem to replace the actual points with interpreted points with a uniform spacing no less than 1mm as shown: . The red dots are points from XYZ imported through OpenRoads as terrain points. The white dots are from a POD with no compression or spacial filtering applied and end up spaced equally at 1mm. I tried with compression set to .01mm. No diff. Whether I process the entire 360 million points or 5000 points, integrity of the original points is lost. I thought I was being smart by using the original e57 file in ContextCapture to build a mesh instead of working with a cloud. Turns out, CC created a POD with the same issue and built a mesh from it. Am I missing something, or is there something internal to the POD format that causes this in the sub-millimeter realm?
