How did you go? Another thing worth mentioning - run some workloads and watch performance monitor/task manager to get a bit of a feel for what is going through for your jobs. Task Manager for Windows 10 usually has GPU - or grab MSI Afterburner (free) to see the peaks/troughs .. GPU work .. single vs multi threaded aspects of what is going on. One thing I have noticed is that tile size has a pretty big impact on GPU "blocks" .. so bigger tiles seem more efficient in that that do large chunks of GPU work at a time. Small times - say 10 mins to process might only have 1 min of GPU work. You could probably try and time it - and from there come up with some metrics on cores vs clock speed vs GPU vs dollars to come up with the most bang for your buck.
