Hi, I am Ashish Paul, Working as a Sr. Design Engineer at Tech27 Systems Pvt. Ltd., a Technology Solutions Provider and Engineering Service Company. We are headquartered at Aberdeen, UK and have our development center at Calicut, Kerala, India. In one of our upcoming projects, we have to do 3D laser survey and 360º photography of an offshore installation with a very limited time schedule. The Project scope will be to 3D scan indoor and outdoor of offshore installation generating 3D point cloud and 360º panoramic images at an accuracy level of +/-50 mm. Then, 3D model have to be generated from the point cloud. Due to the limited time schedule, we are looking to do a photogammetric survey alone using a Ladybug Camera/NCTech I star 360 Camera and then generate the complete point cloud of the installation from the images using Bentley Context Capture. Since we are changing our normal workflow, we have some queries to be clarified, which I am listing below: 1) Is ladybug Camera/NCTech I star 360 Camera suitable for the job? Or Can you please suggest a camera which will be most suitable for our project. 2) Can we attain the accuracy level of +/- 50 mm using this workflow? 3) What will be the point cloud file format generated by Bentley Context Capture? Can we export it into any Plant Modelling Software's like PDMS for 3D modeling? We use file formats like .xyz, .pts etc. 4) Can we use Bentley Context Capture as a viewing software to view the point cloud and take dimensional measurements. Can anyone please reply to my queries?
