Thanks JP, this reply has really helped to develop things however, we will not be using OBM. Primarily because we are not designing the bridge (it already exists) and I'm not sure we could justify the software costs based on one project. Regards the accuracy, i'm not entirely sure what you are saying will or wont e the best solution. Could you explain? Having had a little more time to think about this, we can do all modelling in Descartes and use AECOsim to export to IFC (2.3 or 4 not decided yet). At this point only exporting Geometry which can be imported back into Revit to have Revit families applied to the individiual objects. This approach avoids having to map Parts & Families to 'IFC Classes' and back to Revit Families again. Which by the sounds of your previous message JP, sounds like a bad idea anyway due to the lack of development for IFC for bridges. Any comments, Brenden/JP?
