Product(s): Bentley Descartes for MicroStation Version(s): 08.11.09.601 Environment: N\A Area: Installation Subarea: N\A Problem Description I want to be able to do a Silent Installation of Bentley Descartes for MicroStation version 08.11.09.601 and later V8i releases. Steps to Resolve The attached are the steps required to do the Silent Installation of Bentley Descartes for MicroStation starting with the Bentley Descartes for MicroStation 08.11.09.601 release. Start > type CMD to get the Command Prompt CMD > Right click and select “ Run as Administrator” CD C:\Download C:\Download > dc081109720en.exe /s /extract_all NOTE: This will extract the Descartes.msi file into the C:\BentleyDownloads\dc081109720en\install folder To install Descartes do the following. Right click on CMD (“Command Prompt”) and select “Run as Administrator” .) Once you have the command prompt run the attached command. msiexec /i C:\\BentleyDescartes.msi /l*vx c:\SilentDCLog.txt /qn Example: C:\Download > msiexec /i C:\BentleyDownloads\dc081109720en\install\BentleyDescartes.msi /l*vx c:\SilentDCLog.txt /qn Attached are links that contain information about the msiexec switches that can be used. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb490936.aspx https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa367988(v=vs.85).aspx The Admin will now have to do the following after the Bentley Descartes for MicroStation installation has completed. • Start > All Programs > Bentley > Bentley Descartes Platform Configuration • Mark the Power Platform products that will be allowed to use Descartes.
