Why is measurements chapter lost from Contextcapture and Acute3D viewer guides? Measurements Measurements Measurements are based on the displayed level of detail which depends on the viewing distance. Measurements on the high resolution model can be done on single tiles on productions without LOD. Coordinate Get XYZ or geographic coordinates of a point. Click on the model to select the position. For georeferenced productions, you can also select the spatial reference system. See also Spatial reference system . Distance Get the direct distance and the height difference between two points. Click on the model to define a 3D segment. Surface Get the perimeter and the area of a surface. Click on the 3D model to define the contour of the surface. Double click to close the polygon. Use backspace to delete the last point. The surface is defined from the projection of the 3D contour on the mean plane of the contour points. Volume Get the volume defined the by the height difference between a base surface and the 3D model. Click on the 3D model to define the contour of the base surface. Double click to close the polygon. Use backspace to delete the last point. Volume measurement You select the method used to define the base surface: Mean plane : The base surface is defined from the projection of the 3D contour on the mean plane of the contour points. Custom plane : The base surface is defined from the projection of the 3D contour on the horizontal plane at the given height (the height uses the production's spatial reference system as reference). The volume is defined by sampling the height difference between the base surface and the 3D model on a regular grid. You can change the sampling distance to control the sampling. The cut volume corresponds to the volume inside the 3D model and above the base surface. The fill volume corresponds to the volume outside the 3D model and below the base surface. The perimeter and the area of the base surface are also reported.
